Chapter 01
Workshop nights, brought in by the host
Wine and paint nights, floral arrangement classes, candle-pouring and DIY skincare workshops, calligraphy and watercolor sessions: Brick + Laurel doesn't run any of these itself, but the room is built to host them. You bring the instructor and the supplies, and the long dark-wood tables give everyone a flat surface to paint, arrange or pour at, with the bar area free for whatever the session calls for.
The whitewashed walls and natural light do a lot of the work for a paint-night backdrop or a product photo of a finished candle. Fifteen to fifty guests fit comfortably, which covers a small private class or a bigger open-registration workshop, and the open vendor policy means your instructor can bring their own kit without checking it against a house list first.

Women's circles, team-building and book clubs
Not every gathering needs a projector screen and a conference vibe, and this room is built for the opposite of that. Women's circles and book clubs use the lounge corner and the long tables for the same afternoon, moving between a discussion setup and a snack table without rearranging anything. It's a warehouse room in La Mesa, not a hotel meeting suite, and it reads that way.
Team-building sessions get the same room without the extra cost of a corporate event space. Bring your own facilitator, use the grazing table for lunch or a coffee break, and let the exposed brick and string lights do more of the atmosphere than a beige conference room ever could. Groups from 15 to 50 people fit without feeling like they're spread across too much space.
Chapter 03
Pop-ups and vendor markets
Small business owners use the room for one-day pop-ups and vendor markets, setting up display tables along the brick walls and letting shoppers move between them the way they would at a craft fair. The chalkboard works as a sign for the day's vendor list or a sale, and the bar area doubles as a checkout counter if you need one.
There's no booth fee to a venue that also wants to sell your customers something. Rent the room, bring your own vendors and signage, and keep everything you take in. The barn doors can stay rolled open during business hours so foot traffic on Guild Street can see the market is happening, which is more than most retail pop-up spaces in La Mesa offer.
Daytime, evening and the weekday rate
Workshops that run long, like a full floral arrangement class or a multi-step skincare session, usually book the daytime slot, 8am to 4pm, so there's daylight through the space and time to clean up before the next booking. Evening workshops, 5pm to midnight, tend to suit a wine and paint night or a book club that starts after the workday ends.

Every workshop or gathering at Brick + Laurel books into the same well-stocked room: the chalkboard, the bar area and the grazing table are included with every rental.
