Private Coffee Experience
A Private Coffee Experience in the Brick + Laurel Room
Four hours in the warehouse room on Guild St, built around a live roast, a guided tasting and coffee your group takes home. Starting at $979.
Chapter 01
Watch the beans roast in front of you
The experience opens with a live roasting demonstration, right in the room your group is seated in. Green coffee beans go into the roaster and come out transformed, and everyone watches the whole arc: the color shifting from pale green to brown, the first crack, the smell filling the space. It is a hands-on start, not a lecture from the sidelines.
Because the roast happens where you are sitting, your group can ask questions as it goes: why timing matters, what that first crack sounds like, how a few extra minutes changes the cup. No experience roasting coffee is required to follow along.

A guided tasting on the SCA flavor wheel
Once the beans have rested, the group moves into a guided tasting built around the SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) flavor wheel, the same reference professional tasters use to name what they are picking up in a cup. Instead of guessing at 'good' or 'bad,' your group learns to place specific notes on the wheel and compare them out loud.
The tasting is built for a group, not a solo cupping session. Everyone tries the same coffee side by side and starts to notice how much roast level and brew time actually change what ends up in the cup.
Chapter 03
Coffee myths, answered, and a walkthrough of how to brew it
Between the roast and the tasting, the group works through common coffee myths, the kind of claims people repeat without ever checking, and gets straight answers in a relaxed Q&A instead of a lecture. It usually turns into the liveliest stretch of the four hours.
The session closes with a walkthrough of a few different ways to brew the same beans, so what your group tastes in the room is something they can recreate at home the next morning with equipment they already own.
What you take home, and who books this
Every guest leaves with freshly roasted coffee from the session, roasted, tasted and boxed up during the same four hours spent in the room. Nothing about it continues after your group walks out the door except the coffee itself.
The Private Coffee Experience starts at $979 for the full four-hour private rental. Hosts book it for birthdays, team outings, client events and small celebrations, anything that calls for a shared activity instead of just a shared meal.
Ondi Tricaso, in a Google review: "The room is spacious yet cozy and intimate."
The four-hour window
Everything happens in one sitting
The roast, the tasting, the myths and methods Q&A and packing up your coffee to take home all happen inside the same four hours, in the same room your group is seated in the whole time. There is no travel between stations and nothing for you to set up yourself.
The rental window is the same four hours used for the room's other private bookings, priced and scheduled the same way. For the full rundown of hourly and all-day rental rates, see venue rental pricing.
